Regular slotted carton cutting and scoring template with dimensions and calibration line
How this result was calculated
  1. Score-to-score panels: 203 + 153 + 203 + 153 mm, plus 30 mm glue tab.
  2. Body height = internal height + board thickness = 123 mm.
  3. Flap depth = (internal width + thickness) ÷ 2 + extra allowance = 76.5 mm.

Prototype centerline model for a regular slotted carton. Score compression, flute, manufacturing tolerances and joint details require converter approval.

Solid lines: cut. Dashed lines: score. Cut slots, pre-fold the scores, glue the side tab inside the opposite panel, then fold short flaps before long flaps.

Full-size SVG/PDF preserves millimeters. Print at 100% / actual size; disable fit to page and verify the 50 mm calibration line. A4 tiled PDF has 10 mm overlaps.

THE METHOD

How to use this tool

The flat blank has four alternating length and width panels plus a glue tab. In this prototype, panel spans are internal length or width plus board thickness; body height is internal height plus thickness. Flaps start at half the adjusted width, with the chosen allowance. Cut slots separate neighboring flaps.

A worked example

For internal dimensions 300 × 200 × 150 mm, 3 mm board, a 30 mm glue tab, and zero extra flap allowance: the four panels total 1,012 mm; the blank width is 1,042 mm. Body height is 153 mm and each flap is 101.5 mm, giving a 356 mm blank height.

Put the result to work

This is a dimensioned prototype for a regular slotted carton, not an industrial cutting die. Real score allowances, joints, flute direction, crush, equipment, and tolerances depend on the converter. Print at 100% or actual size, measure the calibration reference, and test an assembled sample before production.

Common questions

Which lines should I cut and which should I fold?

Use the preview legend: continuous cut paths define edges and slots, while dashed score lines mark folds. Do not cut through score lines.

Can I send this directly to a box manufacturer?

Use it to communicate a concept and dimensions. Ask the manufacturer to verify construction and converting allowances and prepare its own production-approved file.

Why does a printed template measure incorrectly?

Printer dialogs often fit artwork to the page. Select actual size or 100%, disable shrink-to-fit, and check the printed calibration reference before cutting.
